| Comment | We discovered over the weekend that the first person to own our house was a German musician and conductor who played at major events and venues across the U.K, including Buckingham Palace and the now long gone Hamilton House, as well as doing contemporary (for the age) music for university formal ball events. He was also the lead conductor at the Hillhead Cinema back in the silent movie days (now Hillhead Book Club). We’ve managed to track down some gramophone records from the 1910s which recorded him and his orchestra playing some traditional Scottish ballads and we’re going to display them on the walls in our house. |
