Lots of people will be fine with cycling in a bit of rain or even snow. Also the thing about really good high-quality cycle infrastructure is that it removes the intensity needed to do a bike commute normally by road. Instead of keeping up with traffic, at 15km +, people can cycle at their own relaxed pace. It opens it up as an option for those less experienced with cycling, and also makes the whole experience a less intense one.
Good infra means you can arrive at work without needing a shower. Millions do it in the Netherlands every day of the week. |
