There is a big live music community in Glasgow. I think this would be your best way in. The Scotia bar might be a starting point. Though to be fair for a woman it's going to be tough. It's are hard drinking culture here and my wife is in a similar position she has been here 10 years now and not been able to make any friends. If you are young Glasgow is great but our age it's tough.
