| Comment | We had 'lockdown' back home last year but I spent half of the year with my parents (working remotely and running errands for my mother who is immunocompromised). It helped somewhat that I had access to my car and I'd often go out on long drives on the weekend.
I did buy a car here, a cheap one. I have driven down to Ayr, and up north to Glencoe, just to get out (I'm driving on my US license but its only valid in the UK for one year of residency. I've applied for a provisional from DVLA back in late July but I've gotten nothing from them...)
I was out in the city centre Tuesday to meet with my PhD supervisor in person for the first time since I arrived in January. It occurred to me when I was standing outside of Central station how much I just missed seeing people out and about. |
