| Comment | Crudely speaking, the problem is two-fold:
* Competency
* Ethicacy
To get competent politicians your **must** pay a decent wage to attract the talent, otherwise the talent will just go into the private sector who will fleece the incompetent politicians. Arguably we pay good enough wages.
The ethics should be taken care of by oversight committees with *actual teeth* to fine/remove/jail corrupt politicians. I do not think we have this. |
