| Comment | The payments reset in April, as that’s the start of the financial year. So it’s a set payment per month for 10 months, from April to Feb, for everybody, it’s not based on when you move in for 10 months after that. So you’re not paying 10 months of tax in 4 months, you’re just paying 4 months of the total. I feel like I’m not explaining it well so let me know if that doesn’t make sense!
Also just as a heads up, I believe in Scotland it’s illegal now for a landlord to lock you into a long contract lease, all leases require a 1 month notice. So if you’re moving into a new place next year don’t get tricked into thinking you’ve to see out a full years lease! |
