I'm a long-term loner and honestly 100% prefer doing most things myself. I've got loads of friends, just not many I see more than a couple of times a year, which is how I like it. I'm not good at compromising and would resent someone who stopped me from doing the things I want to do, so I don't put myself - or anyone else - in that situation. When I do meet friends we tend to just go for a drink and shoot the breeze rather than any kind of organised activities. Anyone who went on holiday with me would probably want to murder me by the end anyway, as they will be on the go from 7am to midnight and will get dragged to about ten museums a day.

Anyway point being there are folk all over the place not letting a lack of company hold them back and just getting on with it - I meet them wherever I go. I went to the pictures one afternoon the other week actually and there were a dozen people there on their own and nobody else. One of the joys of doing things alone - especially travelling - is that you'll find everybody wants to talk to you, and if that doesn't sound like fun, you can mentally put on your invisibility cloak and radiate 'fuck off' vibes and they will leave you alone.

Live your life, dude!
