As competitors in leased offices end their leases, the arse is going to fall out the commercial property market big style. I work in financial services and blended working is here for a long, long time.
If competitors are offering blended or fully remote working and Barclays insist on their folk being in the office, they'll lose existing and potential staff to competitors.
When I was still Glasgow based, the guidance we had was each employee cost £10k on top of their salary just to put their bum on a seat with a desk, lighting, heating, facilities etc. The savings from blended working are too big to ignore. |
