Let's be honest though, even with a full tram system in place car travel isn't going anywhere and that "1 bit of bridge" makes up part of the busiest stretch of the motorway in the city. The infrastructure was built in the late 60's/early 70's and by not repairing any damages to it would see us run the risk of a disaster like the Morandi Bridge collapse in Genoa.
