| Comment | You’re stuck between a rock and a hard place because a cosy pub isn’t big enough for social dancing. Also the cosy pubs will tend to be rammed, noisy places at new year if they’re open.
For ceilidhs maybe try Sloans ballroom. For small scale food, pub atmosphere and maybe some live music try Babbity bowsters.
The Clutha and scotia are small scale old cosy pub with music but they will be heaving with people.
That said; we are currently limping our way through all the cop26 restrictions so who knows what things will look like come the holidays. Most places haven’t announced their plans for the holiday period to be honest so it’s hard to say what’s exactly on the cards for us this year.
Taxis are awful at new year but any city centre hotel should suit your purposes. I can’t think of any venues offering what you’re looking for in the west end. |
