| Comment | Which is why rehabilitation is so important, propper rehabilitation. Prison these days is literally just a convention for criminals. They're given creature comforts though nowhere near what they got on the outside at the higher tiers of security prison, and they learn from others, make contacts, try new drugs...
But that isn't a call for harsher prisons, tougher punishments, its a call to actually do the work and try and get these people off the streets and into being productive, or at the very least, pull them away from violence.
A lot of Re offending is to do with the area and associates they have too. I think rehabilitation and optional relocation is an important step too. A lot of criminals want a second chance and can't get it, a lot don't think they have a chance at that second chance. |
