It certainly isn't about history, given that their beloved defender of protestantism actually fought at the boyne with the popes blessing. Ireland was seen as an easier route to invade England and the campaign was nothing to do with saving Irish protestants. William had no great love for the Scots despite what the OO will claim, indeed one of the darkest betrayals in our history, that of the massacre of Glencoe and the following period of oppression in the Highlands can be directly attributed to William and his rule.
The modern day OO is nothing but a hate group desperately trying to hold on to their bigotry and rage in a world that is increasingly viewing them as an irrelevant dinosaur.
