The cost of the licence and training up front is close to £600 for a private hire licence, and a taxi license will be more expensive as there is more training involved.

The cost of renting a car for private hire is around £170/week then you have fuel cost on top of that. Depending on which company you drive for, there will be a rental cost for using their app, or uber take 25% of all of your earnings.

Its not cheap to run a taxi.
