Agreed there, we didn't have a car for 4 years staying in Thornwood because we didn't need one (and, honestly, where would we have parked it!), bus stop was serviced by 3 buses which all went through the west end and to the city so there wasn't much of an issue with wait times, walking distance to the subway/train (or a very short bus ride), supermarkets, cafes, pubs, wee shops all within walking distance.

Moved to a house and life would be much more difficult without a car. There's a train that goes into the city centre or Paisley quickly, but there are the issues with weekend trains being hourly and they don't stop as close to supermarkets for the weekly shop.
