| Comment | Same thing happened to us. We had been paying monthly by direct debit for several months, including arrears, as the house was uninhabitable for 2 months when we first took ownership. Then one Friday the sheriff officers turned up at the door. I was fuming, made worse by the fact they wouldn't speak to me as they had my partner's name so said they would come back!
My partner called GCC on the Monday and it took ages before they would admit they had made a mistake - no apology of course.
