Patrick is still a central area. Go into North and South Lanarkshire and look at prices there.

Average house prices are misleading as they take into account sales data, not the average value of houses overall.

The more affluent are more likely to move more often and hence expensive homes change hands more often than bargain properties.

Also, someone on the average salary in the UK could absolutely afford a £180k property. How could they not?
