Scottish Power and BAE are two big companies I know of that do adult apprenticeships and trainee schemes and are still regularly recruiting, my company unfortunately stopped doing so during covid and still hasn't started back. Would definitely recommend trying to get into some sort of college course ASAP just to get a little experience that you can talk about during the application process.
I qualified from my apprenticeship the week before I turned 30 and its honestly been the best thing I ever did.
