| Comment | An asylum claim can be genuine and the person can still fall into gang culture and addiction. As for the romani population, it doesn't surprise me that there are so many issues with crime etc, they are legitimately the most mistreated demographic in Europe. They have segregated schools in Hungary for christ sake (one of the largest roma populations). I don't think people appreciate the issues roma populations face in other countries. Realistically the resources we have to deal with assimilation and ongoing care/education are woeful in this country. Austerity has fucked us on that front, so let's not pretend the tories aren't a massive factor in the problems we face. |
