I totally get what you are saying here, my wee brother bought a great wee flat around Govan (think it's technically Craigton, next to the big Asda) and it's a nice quiet street, really handy for public transport and getting around the city. He loves it, even if it's a change from staying in the West End. It might not be super fancy, but as a starting point that will likely be a bit cheaper and potentially less competition it could work out in some of the areas around the hospital. Important to check out the close and have a walk around in the evening to get a feel for what it would be like living there.
