Not Gorbals but my wee Grannie fae Govan moved out to the Red Road flats and thought she was dead posh living in Balornock. I have two memories of the flats. She lived on the 23rd and I remember the toilet water swirlling as the flats swayed in the wind. I also remember she would put me and my cousin sitting inside the cracked open window with our legs dangling into the outside air. Our wee faces pressed up against the glass. The windows had some kind of lever catch. We would be very young at the time. |
