When I got a knock back years ago, I was told that younger apprentices will work for a good while longer before thinking about going self employed or moving. The older you are, the more you're probably thinking about self employment so the less time they'll get out of you in comparison to the cost of training you up etc.

Makes sense but it's still shite if you're on the receiving end. Are we really supposed to work into our 70's based on jobs or college courses picked when we were teenagers?
