Thanks for all the suggestions, but apparently the kibosh has been thrown on the party. I spent the past two days downloading tunes I wouldn't normally play for it, but it seems like it's a no go. It's a young crowd, I reckon if I put on Thriller they wouldn't get the reference, so it's no big loss. It's a shame for the lassie who was throwing it, though.
