| Comment | I cycle a lot in Glasgow. My advice, get a waterproof jacket, waterproof shoes, front and rear mudguards. Get really powerful lights, I'd recommend cygolite. Ride defensively, i.e. don't squeeze yourself in 6 inches from the pavement. Idiots will try to pass you in your lane and almost kill you every day I guarantee it. Cycle about two feet from the pavement so cars actually have to make a conscious choice to pull out and pass you. Tbh this is rarely an issue as if you're on a fast road where cars are passing there are usually multiple lanes like GWR but if you're somewhere built up like Finnieston you're rarely going to be overtaken as you'll be going the same speed or faster. |
