Yeah, I understand the bigger tables which is fine, I know they’re more work. I would’ve paid the 10% happily. It’s just the we’ve paid more the 20% and none of the staff thought to tell us or ask off we were sure about tipping so much. I guess they could argue that it’s our responsibility to check the bill but who really studies their bill when they’re having a good time?

Like yourself, I’ll pay more than 10% if service is great but I still think it should be the consumers choice and not the company’s. I feel like by adding it on, they make that choice for people.

And yes - it’s a good point that someone else mentioned on here too, I wonder how much of that the staff actually get if it’s automatically added on!
