I've never said a 747 doesn't operate from Glasgow.
The shortest runway length for a 747 at MTOW is 2820m, so the ones taking off from GLA are lightened. My point was AF1 usually lands at prestwick, as it can take off from there with a MTOW fuel load for long haul flights, whereas it cannot at Glasgow.
Regardless, this argument is a bit irrelevant since AF1 landed at Edinburgh this morning (and will take off at a lighter load after COP since Edinburgh's runway is roughly the same as Glasgow's! |
