| Comment | most places which have normal flats and not massive townhouses, ie partick yorkhill ect. the issue is demand. my mum got in for the yorkhill housing association when there wasnt as much demand cause finnieston hadnt been gentrified yet, now theres a fucking huge queue. thats the issue. there are people living in council flats in the west end, plenty of em. the problem is that no-one else can join them until one of the existing council tennants leaves, cause the housing associations dont have the funds to buy up new flats in that area and they cant just sublet cause it would be ridiculously expensive for people needing help, defeating the point. and the queue remains big because the schools in the west end are good so people with families are desperate to get in the right encatchment area. |
