I see this perpetrated in arguments on both sides of the atlantic. From "its not legal to defend yourself" to "if a burglar hurts themselves robbing your house they can sue you" Its all 100% made up urban legend bullshit that doesn't happen, akin to the razor blade in Halloween candy story.
What you *can't* do is simply bludgeon someone to death because they are inside your house. So in other words you can't live out your Death Wish style revenge fetish if someone climbs in through an open window. Additional, even in gun lovin' america, you can't randomly open fire on people who are running away after you find them inside your house. |
