Oh wait, there's fucking tons of them, all having a good time loving life in Glasgow. I've got hundreds of English pals here and far from being abused by the natives, they mostly all seem to call Glasgow home now, love life here and couldn't imagine going back down south. I've probably worked with people from just about every nation in Europe, I honestly struggle to think of a European country I've not worked with a native, so understandably all these places I have worked have been nothing like you describe and everyone has got on brilliantly, fully embracing the diversity of cultures among us. Would be mental if someone didn't like other people who came from other places. Mind you I'm not a chef, but I have met a few chefs in my time with disagreeable views, it does seem like the kitchen is one place you might be more likely to hear some hateful views, so I wouldn't hold something you've heard in the kitchen up as representative of Glasgow as a whole.
