Let's take housing as an example. Scotland has in recent years lowered its poverty level dramatically. It has done this through utilising social housing.

This is just one example of how poverty has decreased in capitalist countries but not as a result of capitalism. You need to learn to think critically about positive relationships in data, that is, just because it happened in a capitalist country, doesn't mean it happened because of capitalism.
