I dont understand. You said noone "needs" a car. Iv just explained to you i do "need" a car as its not possible for me to get to work for these early starts via public transport

"That sounds like a you problem" is your retort. Fuck me mate you should be a spokesman for Glasgow City Council with those responses

If you stay in the likes of Greenock and commute to the city, obviously public transport is the answer. The train is even quicker than driving and you dont need to faff about with parking, its what i would do. if i worked under <5 miles from my house i would cycle.

The problem comes in when like me you stay in a suburb out past the southside and need to get to a random area in the North East for work. Even when i do start at a reasonable time i would need to get 3 buses which would take around 1h30, up to 2 hours in peak traffic. Or a bus to a railway station and then another bus from the town. In a city like London or Barcelona its likely id be able to get the underground this distance in under 30 mins, but going back to the original point made, Scottish public transport is shit.

Sick of this "ditch the car" patter from folk who are lucky enough that they can walk to work or public transport just happens to suit their circumstances, so think everyones situation is the same so theyre just a lazy scumbag and need to "ditch the car"

Im not meandering up to Dundee for a laugh, then i wouldn't care how long it took. Iv got a daily commute to grind out
