| Comment | Don’t get me wrong, I agree with you, but decades of poor planning and policy decisions isn’t something something that can be easily fixed. What we need is open and honest discussion about how we can make it work for everyone, not just those who live in the 100% car free fantasy world that’s never going to exist - well at least not in our lifetimes anyway.
I think what I was trying to get at in my original comment is that I suspect GCC see some of the proposed parking restrictions outwith the city centre as a bit of a cash cow, and that they’re trying to hide this under the guise of something else entirely, e.g. commuter parking issues etc. In all fairness I’d probably be quite open to believing that their intentions were honest if it wasn’t for their blatant disregard for the local communities concerns regarding the proposals, a laughable consultation process throughout which they’ve completely controlled the narrative, and the fact that they’ve ignored multiple objections made on grounds such as safety, unreasonably long hours and administration and cost of residents permits. |
