i'm all for this. there's so many cities in europe that have banned/limited cars from city centres to promote a better experience for pedestrians. this has more benefits than just lowering CO2 emission btw. makes it easier for people who want to take alternate forms of transport (cycling). means disabled folk who need to use a car to get around CAN get around easier. means suppliers will have to invest in EV vans/trucks if they want to do their deliveries to shops. people are likely to spend more time walking around and at a more leisurely pace which increases foot traffic for businesses and the chance that people will buy stuff.

so a few years ago, i was in Jyväskylä in finland, it's a small city in finland's central belt. i remember doing some christmas shopping there and it was so great not having to raise my voice to talk over cars or have to stop every few hundred meters because someone built a road right through the middle of the high street.

plus limiting cars from the city centre will also improve public transport. make it more difficult for people to drive and more people will use park and ride services or public transport. more fares on these means more improvements, it also speeds up travel times on busses because there's less cars on the road.
