We have lots of parks so that's not a big issue. I'd advocate Southside, near Queens Park for dog walking, eating and drinking in Strathbungo and Shawlands, and lefty/green community activities around the Victoria Drive / Govanhill area. Mount Florida and Cathcart seem nice too but are a touch further out from the city centre.

Bear in mind that a big % of our housing stock is tenement flats that don't offer much parking; streets with these flats are usually packed with parked cars. You'll probably want a house or a recently built flat. A bonus is that these are easier to heat that tenements.
