Yeh they should have done a better job with University Avenue, as a road its one of the nicer ones to cycle on, no parking makes a huge difference and all the slow speed signs + student crossing the road make it nicer than other roads, but still should have a dedicated lane.

The road that blows my mind is Sauchiehall past Charing Cross, if you count the lanes to the side its EIGHT lanes of one way traffic + parking. If you need to cycle towards kelvingrove you have to do it into oncoming traffic, on the path or go a completely different route.

The avenues project is doing a good job, the rest of the sauchiehall path while its not perfect and people walk in it all the time, its a shared space that works well, we dont need a place to bomb down at full speed, most people respect it, its flexible for when there isnt much pavement space. Occasionally need to give people a bell or a glare but such a huge improvement.
