Even now, the reality isn't like that. In my line of work you come across a few people like this. They have structured their entire life around getting away with this. Disqualified directors etc. containing to run their new businesses via their children, liquidating companies in which liabilities arise around fraudulent activity.
The one punishment people can't get around (apart from the mega rich) is prison time. I think it's needed as a deterrent else you'd see even more fraud. |
