How does it mean people are paying more taxes? People living in Glasgow are being pushed into Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and further afield because people from London fancy a change of scenery.
You aren't paying additional taxes, you're paying the same taxes as the guy who can no longer afford to live in Glasgow. Your point about opening jobs in this climate is rather moot as more and more positions are becoming remote. Which is also a reason we've seen so many people move from all over the UK to Glasgow as they don't need a base for work.
