| Comment | 100% this - estate agents and most private landlords don't understand the differences between PhD students and undergrads, they just see the word 'student' and assume we're unreliable, damage risks, etc. They don't know we're generally late 20s and get paid all through the year, and they won't bother looking into details given there's no shortage of folk looking for places at the minute.
Your advisor(s) will probably already know about this. Saying you're employed as a researcher is a very common white lie they're willing to back up in references. |
