Every event I have been to there are checks. They only need to get a certain percentage of people though as it would be between impracticable and impossible to do it for everybody. Especially at the Hydro or the bigger football stadiums.

For example at Hampden/Ibrox/Parkhead lets say for talking sake every single person must be checked. They put 100 stewards on to do checks, and it takes each person an average of 30 seconds to have their vaccine passport checked and then enter the stadium by scanning their ticket.

Its a 416 man hours, spread it across 100 stewards at 100 turnstiles and it would take over 4 hours 10 minutes to get every body in the stadium.

Meaning for a 3pm kick off they’d need to open the gates at 10:50am and for an 8pm kick off it would be 15:50 if everybody were to be in on time for kick off.

For most venues these checks are an extra expense or hassle and they don’t really want to do them. They just need to comply with the ruling.

They might get a load of checks done early on to meet their percentage of only be doing checks at a certain part like at Hampden they had a line of people along Somerville Dr. Enter at any other part and you went through unchecked.
