Actually had a telephone appointment with my GP this afternoon and she was telling me about the referral process. Said they can either do a routine or an urgent referral. The routine one takes forever - up to a year, basically added to the bottom of the list - and the urgent one that I think takes a couple of weeks. She said there really needs to be another option in the middle as issues - like the one I was complaining about - aren’t an urgent emergency but also aren’t just randomly routine like something completely non serious. She said if she marked mine as urgent she’d just get a standard response back saying it’s not actually urgent, or words to that effect.
Anyway glad you got seen to eventually. Wish I still had private healthcare! At least the NHS is free, though. I’d hate to be poor in the US |
