If you have really good thermal curtains and the frames are in good nick you can managed, but I replaced singled glazed with double as soon as I could afford it and it made it much more comfortable to live in. I wouldn’t go back to a single glazed place, and if you’re on a ground floor flat in a tenement it would be even worse as they are the coldest in the block.
