I’ve rented both double and single glazed over the years. All the single glazed tenements I stayed in felt colder but these flats usually had other factors such as gaps letting in drafts or the one I stayed in that only had one electric radiator, kitchen was freezing in the morning! For me, I’d try to avoid single glazed but if it was the only option in my budget, thick curtains, and that plastic film stuff (can’t recall the name) that sort of imitates double glazing to a small extent made a big difference for me. I also found and sealed up some holes where I felt a draft. Didn’t take long to do and helped a lot.
