Bit of a coincidence that this has happened when the idea of hard border and this backstop agreement between Ireland and Northern Ireland is at the forefront of everyones mind.

You might think that something like this would play into the hands of those who wish to soften peoples approach to a hard border, particularly given the IRA reluctance to target Scotland in the past. Why would they all of a sudden change their stance, it makes no sense.
