The litter / roads / city planning. Glasgow has some very nice parts but a lot of them are seperated by rubbish filled run down estates or motorways.

A lot of glaswegians seem to think this is a normal problem with big cities and / or that its just the councils fault because they don't empty residential bins every few days or whatever.

The city planning in the 60/70s is definitely at fault but a council could not possibly afford to pick up all the litter that glaswegians throw on the floor, its going to need a very big culture shift.

The avenues project and the large number of people doing and organising litter picking do seem to be turning this around slowly.
