I've taken a few boxes on board even on flights via China and the US, where they have extra strict security measures going on. Just make pray that TSA staff won't steal the treat!

Also, bringing safety food is a very good idea. There are loads of things you don't need to bring with you because you can buy them when you get to the destination. But tea cakes? Hmm. You've got your packing priorities sorted!
