Comment | I did it for 2 years and swore i’d never do it again but just started another job in Edinburgh a few weeks ago.
The express train is the best way to do it, they used to be every 15 mins but are now every half an hour. Which is a massive pain in the arse tbh. As others have said, get a railcard if you can. I’m too old now unfortunately.
From North Kelvinside I can leave the house at 7:20 and be at my desk in Cannonmills (25 min walk from Waverly) at just past 9. Including subway its 30 quid a day.
Don’t bother with cross country, it’s impossible. Unreliable and inconvenient.
The bus takes ages.
Driving is soul destroying - getting to Edinburgh is fine but then getting to the office in rush hour took the same amount of time. |
