Comment | Victorian/edwardian buildings do often have some restrictions on window type, making it more expensive to get double glazing. This would be either through being a listed building or if they are in a conservation area.
The main reason more aren't double glazed, however, is that the landlords who own a large percentage of the tenement stock in the west end (for example) aren't going to spend the money to change the windows as they don't have to live there. |
