I've been cycling for over a decade, owned a car for 15 years and obviously been a pedestrian since I could walk. In every mode of transport you will get people cutting out in front of you, people not following the rules and people pulling off dangerous manoeuvres.
The common denominator being people.
So, regardless if you're walking, cycling or driving, the best course of action is always to be prepared to for the unexpected, adjust your speed to the threats around you and be polite and courteous.
Getting up on your high horse is not going to change the situation so learn how to live with it safely.
