Listen, I'm not saying I would or anyone should jump at the chance to fine them within seconds of seeing them parked there.

In the parking wardens shoes, I'd have explained the situation and given them as much opportunity to move on as possible. But they didn't move.

It's not about being a jobsworth.

That safe cycle lane was literally *unusable* for the duration that vehicles were parked in it. That's not nothing. It's really depressing that there is zero consideration being given, either on social media or in articles like this in the Scotsman, to people affected by parking like this. It's not victimless. Being charitable, you can say they made an error parking there. But at the end of the day it's selfish behaviour from anyone, whether private citizen, courier company, or even a food bank, to choose to park their vehicle there, or to feel like they have some sort of right to.

I just can't get my head around why they should get some sort of pass for it? It's not the behaviour of a "jobsworth" to point out they were in the wrong, especially after giving them fair opportunity to move.
