| Comment | No Jewish ancestry here, but I find the history of Judaism fascinating - if I had a spark of religiosity in me, I'd probably convert.

My great gran used to do odd jobs for her Jewish neighbours when she lived in the Gorbals (the old Gorbals), which had a thriving Jewish community prior to the Second World War. She used to light their fire for them on Fridays as they were forbidden from doing so on the Sabbath.

I've also been inside the Garnethill Synagogue and it's a fantastic building. |
