| Comment | introduce a congestion tax for cars entering city center (disabled exception of course) and any money raised from the congestion tax can go back into better infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists and people using public transport.
close off byres road to cars, widen the pavements so it's actually possible to get more than 2 folk past at a time and add a cycle lane.
introduce a law that 30% of any new housing developments HAS to be social housing or the build cannot continue.
make housing developments accessible by public transport and put a focus on walkability first.
a ban on buskers/street performers (i'm a musician, but i think 90% of all buskers are pretty bad and the good ones don't make up for the noise and the slowing down of foot traffic)
20% extra tax per year on any building over 10 floors (i think most skyscrapers are ugly and pretty horrible from an environmental standpoint)
football teams will have to pay for all damages their fans cause (maybe some rangers fans won't keep destroying george square if it means their team can't afford the good players)
and if i've not became public enemy number 1 by the end of my time there.... maybe bring back pivo pivo properly. it was always the best venue in glasgow to play but now it's just another boring irish themed pub for american tourists. |
